Winner of the World Sweeping Association Scholarship for the 2020/2021 Academic School Year is…
Cameron Crews, sponsored by Victory Sweepers, Lacey’s Spring, AL.
Cameron Crews will be attending Auburn University for the 2020/2021 school term. In high school, Cameron was involved with two different sports, track/cross country and football. He was also active in the Junior Civitan high school community service organization and the Young Life Christian organization. In addition, Cameron was a member of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society; further, we received his high school principal’s ‘Certificate of Award for Academic Excellence. Notably, his ACT score of 30 is in the 94th percentile for all test-takers nationwide.
Cameron’s essay for the Scholarship, which he wrote in response to the question “If you could go back in history and change one decision that was made, what would it be and why?” is a worthwhile reminder for all of us.
One of the people asked to write a recommendation for Cameron was Mark Schwarze, of Victory Sweepers. Here’s what Schwarze had to say about Cameron, in part:
“The few times I have had interactions with Cameron, he was courteous, respectful, and able to carry on a conversation with the knowledge of a 40-year-old. When I asked him about his interests and goals he quickly gave me a mature list that you could tell had been considered thoroughly and planned for a long time. I know he has been supportive of both his mother and father over their many years. Cameron is the kind of person with a personality that I would love to selfishly hire for sales or basically any position that required someone who possessed a genuine like of people. My scholarship vote would absolutely be for Cameron Crews.”
